"It has come to my attention that there has been some difficulty in reaching one another with our letters. The following points should be heeded to maximize the chances that I will duly receive you welcomed correspondence:

1) Keep in mind that I answer all mail..... Therefore, if you write me and do not receive a response, this means that I either did not receive your letter in the first place or my response to you likewise disappeared. (The only exception to my modus operandi above is if you ask me not to respond to your letter or tell me that no response is necessary.)

2) Type all of your letters to me and save them on your computer. This way, if a letter goes missing, you can simply resend it until I get it. I will get it eventually.

3) If you do not receive a response from me within three to four weeks, resend your saved, typed letter.

4) In your letters, do not refer to any other prison inmate as this is sometimes cause for rejection.

Follow these points and I believe our correspondence will be as successfully facilitated as possible. I look forward to hearing from you!
